Arghus Soares Bordignon (born 19 January 1988 in Alegrete) is a Brazilian football defender, who currently plays for Maribor in the Slovenian PrvaLiga.
At time he spent on Cyprus, he met Nilton Fernandes, who introduced him to Zlatko Zahovič, the director of football at the Slovenian football team Maribor.

Powell then went on to score Wigan's first ever European goal, against NK Maribor on 3 October 2013, and later added the third goal in a 3–1 victory for his side.

On the club level, he played for Sarajevo, Čelik Zenica, Željezničar Sarajevo, Maribor and Olimpija Ljubljana.
During the 2010 summer transfer window it was speculated for the first time that Velikonja could join 1.SNL Maribor, however, the deal was eventually not carried out and Velikonja stayed in Gorica for the start of the 2010–11 season.
A native of Rače, Slovenia, he is a lifelong fan of NK Maribor, a club he currently plays for, and regularly attended Maribor's matches as a child.
In the 1996–97 season he moved from Drava to Maribor, later spending one season at NK Olimpija before returning to Maribor and then moving on to Club Brugge.
He is the son of former NK Maribor player and coach, Vojislav Simeunović.
