Graduates of both D.O. and M.D. medical schools are eligible to apply to residency programs through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), which represents ACGME-accredited programs.
Those IMGs who have passed the necessary USMLE exams and obtained the ECFMG certification can then apply to U.S. residency positions via the NRMP and ERAS.
