In the early 1990s, the NSW Government assisted to establish wetlands at Carcoar Dam in an effort to control blue-green algae which had made the dam unusable for recreation and made the water discharged from the dam unusable, even for domestic animals.
In 2010 and 2011, Roozendaal was criticised for the deal he brokered, as Treasurer of New South Wales, to privatise some of the NSW Government's electricity assets; the retail branches of Integral Energy and Country Energy were sold to Origin Energy in December 2010.
