In late 1946, Sarkar formed the Bengal Partition League along with Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Nalinaksha Sanyal, Colonel A.C. Chatterjee and others to press for the partition of Bengal and formation of a separate province for the Bengali Hindu people.
The book is widely quoted in Land of the Seven Rivers: A Brief History of India's Geography by economist and writer Sanjeev Sanyal who is Nalinaksha Sanyal's great grandson.
