The Ulenga faction also said in December 2007 that it was suing Shixwameni and Nora Schimming-Chase to seek the return of about 260,000 Namibian dollars belonging to the party, which, according to the Ulenga faction, Shixwameni and Schiming-Chase had diverted and spent.
It was built over seven years at a cost of 20 million Namibian dollars, but needed N$55,000 worth of repairs just a year later.
In February 2009, the library began undergoing renovations worth N$ 700,000, which included replacing the carpets with ceramic tiles, add air conditioning, increase lighting and create a public internet cafe.
