The Future Farmers of America (now the National FFA Organization) was founded during the Royal and Kansas City's professional baseball team the Kansas City Royals derive their name in part from the Royal.
In 2009 the school joined the advisory committee of National FFA Organization's National Quality Program Standards.
Each July, the Grayson County Agricultural Recreation Park in Leitchfield hosts the Grayson County 4-H and FFA Ag Fair.

The FFA jacket was worn in the 2004 motion picture Napoleon Dynamite by characters taking part in an agriculture competition.
The Pumpkin Train is held every weekend in October and is supported by the Hamilton Heights High School FFA, who grow and sell pumpkins alongside the rail line.
Selinsgrove's student life programs number in the twenties and include both national and local programs such as French Club, Technology Student Association, Forensics (of the National Forensic League), Chess club, FFA, Student Government, German Club, Key Club, SADD Club, Spanish Club, and Web Heads.
