Generally, PALIPEHUTU's support comes more from the central region of Muramvya and Lake Tanganyika, whereas the main Hutu political party CNDD derives its support from the southern Bururi region.
The Resolution condemned the March 23 Movement for its attacks on the civilian population and MONUSCO peacekeepers, and demands the rebels groups in the area (FDLR, LRA, Mai-Mai militias, FNL and ADF) to cease immediately all forms of violence.

The resolution called upon all armed groups in the Great Lakes region of Africa–including the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), Palipehutu and Lord's Resistance Army–to immediately lay down their arms and participate in demobilisation programmes.
