His graduate studies included work in online portal imaging for radiotherapy at the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation (now Cancer Care Manitoba), and work on artifact reduction for functional magnetic resonance imaging at the National Research Council of Canada.

Edward Drake Building

The building is now occupied by the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC), Canada's national cryptologic agency, and was renamed in honour of the first Director of its predecessor organisation, the Communications Branch of the National Research Council.

Montreal Laboratory

The Director of the laboratory was Hans von Halban, but he proved to be an unfortunate choice as he was a poor administrator, and did not work well with the National Research Council of Canada.
