Navantia, formerly Bazán or IZAR, a Spanish shipbuilding firm
The BAM (Buque de Acción Marítima) ships are new modular Offshore Patrol Vessels of the Spanish Navy adapted to different purposes from a common base, manufactured by Navantia.
One such example was its effort to purchase the blueprints for proposed conventional take off/landing ships from Empresa Nacional Bazan of Spain; the 23,000 ton SAC-200 and the 25,000 ton SAC-220 designs.

Navantia is contracted to construct the hulls from 104 'blocks' or 'modules', which are fabricated individually at Navantia's facilities in Ferrol and Fene, then combined on the slipway at the Ferrol shipyard.
It has also built ships mostly in kit form from Damen Group Shipyards and is currently working with Navantia to build some of the new 2000 tons plus patrol vessels.
The Indian Navy issued a US$ 2.6 billion domestic tender to three domestic shipyards - Larsen & Toubro (L&T) which has tied up with Navantia of Spain, Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering which has partnered with France’s DCNS, and ABG Shipyard which has partnered with USA's Alion.
