The current building is the third station to be built in Polegate on the site of the original station and was completed in 1986 by Network Southeast, and officially opened by Ian Gow in 1987.
The station features a ticket office, passenger information screens and the 'flip clock' from the Network Southeast period on the London bound platform, which is still in working order.
Boyd's idea was that Network Southeast should sponsor a flower show at Hampton Court, and provide the public transport to Hampton Court railway station.
