Geographically Medak diocese is spread over five revenue districts of the Northern part of Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh state: Adilabad, Medak, Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Hyderabad.
In 2007–2008 the International Institute for Population Sciences interviewed 1015 households in 41 villages across the district.

NTPP intended to contest the 2009 Andhra Pradesh assembly election in all constituencies of the Telangana districts (Hyderabad, Khammam, Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Adilabad, RR, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Medak) together with like-minded parties with the objective of creating a separate Telangana state.
