The congregation was founded in 1851, at the former Norbertine Abbey of Benoite-Vaux in the Department of Meuse.

Leonard Goffiné

This book was ready in 1687, and in 1688 it received the imprimatur of the Vicar-General of Münster, and in 1690 the approbation of Rev. William Heimbach, Norbertine prior of Meer, and of Rev. John Dirking, Rector of the Jesuit college of Hildesheim.

Born in Cologne, or according to some, Broich, at the age of nineteen he entered the Norbertine Abbey of Steinfeld, in the Eifel district of Germany, and commenced his two years novitiate in July 1667.

Ordained priest on Ember Saturday before Christmas, 1667, Goffine was sent to Dünwald to assist the priests who were charged with the direction of the parish and the convent of the Norbertine canonesses.

In 1546 he was chosen to represent the Norbertine Order at the Council of Trent, but John, Cardinal of Lorraine retained him and, with the pope's consent, resigned the Bishopric of Verdun in favour of Psaume, who was consecrated bishop 26 August 1548.

The village belonged to the Bishops of Kraków, who handed it to the Norbertine abbey from nearby Hebdów.

Redzikowo

The village is first mentioned in historical records from 1288, when during the era of German eastward settlement duke Mestwin II granted the village to a monastery of Norbertine nuns.
