Shorebirds such as the Black Turnstone and Ruddy Turnstone frequent the island as do garden birds such as the Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Thrushes, Warblers, Pileated Woodpeckers, and Flickers.
Many species of birds can be seen throughout the park, including Purple Gallinule, Black-bellied Whistling Duck, Black-crowned Night Heron, Great Egret, White Ibis, Common Moorhen, Roseate Spoonbill, Least Bittern, Limpkin, Mottled Duck, Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Northern Flicker, and Sora.
