Danish Air Lines

The other, Jutlandia, survived the war and continued in DDL service until damaged beyond repair at Northolt in 1946.

Polish Fighting Team

Formed at Northolt on 5 February 1943 as the Polish Fighting Team, initial preparations for overseas service took place at RAF West Kirby, and the unit embarked on 24 February, arriving in North Africa on 13 March 1943.


Northolt Rugby Football Club

Northolt Rugby Club formed in 1958 near The Polish War Memorial, where the Acton based engineering company Lucas CAV had some of the best-conditioned sports grounds in West London.

Northolt RFC stayed there for 6 years until the grounds were closed down, at which point the club was relocated to its present location in Cayton Green Park, Cayton Road, Greenford.

Pony Turf Club

In 1929, a dedicated racetrack was opened in Northolt, Middlesex and during the 1930s pony races are recorded as being held throughout the South West of England, as well as at Portsmouth Park (Paulsgrove), Worthing, Chelmsford, Southend, Sketty Park near Swansea and Lilleshall Hall, Shropshire.

Princes Risborough

The Great Central built a new line from Marylebone to join this railway at South Ruislip (then called Northolt Junction).
