As part of the New Relationship with Schools, Ofsted and DfES are streamlining data analysis in schools by merging PANDA with PAT to produce new online product called RAISEOnline.
An Ofsted review of the child care industry in 2013, commissioned by Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, reported that one in three homes run by Advanced Childcare "failed to be classified as 'good' or 'outstanding' by the education watchdog."
After the March 2012 inspection, the college was placed into special measures by Ofsted but has since made progress under new principal Jason Wing, for which he was commended by inspectors in a follow-up report.
QCDA worked closely with its main strategic partners, including the Department for Education,the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), employers' organisations, the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA), the Skills Funding Agency, the former General Teaching Council for England (GTCE) and the Sector Skills Councils (SSC).
It seeks to maintain good relationships with the wide range of official bodies that impinge on teacher education: the Training and Development Agency for Schools OFSTED, the General Teaching Councils, Lifelong Learning UK, Universities UK, the British Educational Research Association, the government departments responsible for teacher education and education in the four countries of the UK, and the higher education funding bodies.
The Working Group for 14–19 Reform was chaired by Mike Tomlinson, former Chief Inspector of Schools at Ofsted.
