A significant part of the OGOGO sound is use of "funny instruments" (closely related to prepared piano of John Cage) in addition to the traditional jazz lineup of guitars, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, bass and drums, as well as the theatrical outfits and invited guest artists while performing.

The OGOGO on that album included trombonist Rodney Oakes and guitarist Igor Grigoriev.
Ogogo competed in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India in the Middleweight (75 kg) Division and won a silver medal after being defeated in the final to Republic of Ireland's Eamonn O'Kane by a score of 16–4.
