Matthias de l'Obel

Mathias de l'Obel, Mathias de Lobel or Matthaeus Lobelius (1538 – 3 March 1616) was born in Lille, Nord-Pas de Calais, France, and died at Highgate, London, England after serving as a physician to William the Silent and James I of England.

Popular Liberation Forces

In 1976 these two organizations would come together with a third (Obel), and create the Eritrean People's Liberation Front.


Obel Tower

In April 2011 it was announced that London law firm Allen & Overy was to rent all of the available office space at the Obel.

Developed by the Karl Group, the Obel Tower is located on Donegall Quay on the River Lagan beside the Lagan Weir.

Ryesgade

The building is now owned by C. W. Obel and houses creative businesses as well as Nørrebro Bryghus.

Ulmus 'Lobel'

The tree is named for Matthias de L'obel, the Flemish botanist also commemorated by the genus Lobelia.
