The band originally formed in late 2011 to early 2012, when Jonas Friddle recruited colleagues at the Old Town School of Folk Music to play on two albums of his original songs, Synco Pony and Belle De Louisville.
Currently the school is led by executive director Bau Graves and has an enrollment of about 6,000 students per week, 2,700 of them children.
The third tribute is the 2007 DVD Larger Than Life, a fundraiser for the Old Town School of Folk Music featuring Arlo Guthrie, Lyle Lovett, Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris and John Prine.
