and flow west under Ontario Highway 11, turns south, heads through Kenogami Lake, then back under Ontario Highway 11 at the settlement of Kenogami Lake, flows under the Ontario Northland Railway (ONR) mainline and past Kenogami Lake Station, enters the municipality of Kirkland Lake and reaches the community of Swastika.
It flows northeast to Kabinakagami Lake, then heads north into Cochrane District, flows under Ontario Highway 11, and passes east of Calstock and the Constance Lake First Nation.
The Kapuskasing River continues northeast over the White Otter Falls, the Bakatase Falls, the Camp Three Rapids and the Big Beaver Falls, takes in the right tributary Saganash River and reaches the town of Kapuskasing, where it is crossed by Ontario Highway 11 and the Ontario Northland Railway line (formerly Canadian National Railway, originally the National Transcontinental Railway).
It passes under Ontario Highway 11 and the Canadian National Railway (CNR) transcontinental main line (used at this point by Via Rail transcontinental Canadian trains) into geographic Bain Township in Unorganized Thunder Bay District, takes in the left tributaries Kenogamisis River and Burrows River, and reaches the Kenogami Lake Dam.

In 1974, a second iteration of Highway 117 was assumed through Muskoka, connecting Highway 11 near Bracebridge with Highway 35 in Dorset.
King's Highway 88, commonly referred to as Highway 88, was a provincially maintained highway located in the town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, which connected former Highway 27 in the village of Bond Head with former Highway 11 in the town of Bradford.
Latchford has good road links because of Ontario Highway 11, which is part of the Trans-Canada Highway as it passes through the town.
