An April 14, 2005 decision at the Superior Court found that Marsden was correct, as it was "plain and obvious" that her office as President of York University did not constitute a public office.
In March 2008 Turner brought an action in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against the City of Guelph, claiming ownership of several of John McCrae's wartime medals which were donated to the McCrae House in 1997 and 2005.
A court challenge was held in Ontario Superior Court, contending that the City has illegally proceeded with the sole-source project.
