There is a plaque dedicated to him in the town of Volosko where he died (between Rijeka and Opatija in present-day Croatia).
In his early youth he brought some LP compilations of Opatija festivals and played them while using a wooden cigarette box as a drum and after hearing The Who's album A Quick One, he decided to become a drummer.
Trams in Opatija ran from 1908 thru to 1933, connecting the railway station in Matulji with Opatija and Lovran.
