9 unusual facts about Optimus Prime

Alpha Trion

He is generally depicted as an ancient mechanoid with a link to Optimus Prime.

He had been working on a way to rebuild Autobots into configurations truly designed for battle, and was convinced to first employ it on Pax, who was rebuilt into Optimus Prime, to whom Alpha Trion gave the Matrix.

In Transformers: Robots in Disguise, a subtle nod is given to Alpha Trion's status when Optimus Prime mentions that both he and his brother Ultra Magnus were created by Alpha Trion.

Alpha Trion first appeared in the 1984 animated Transformers series as the titular character in the episode "The Search for Alpha Trion" where he was the father-figure for Optimus Prime.

Alpha Trion is mentioned by Optimus Prime as the Great Autobot Historian who preserves Vector Sigma.

In Transformers: Energon #19, Alpha Trion gives Optimus Prime a vision of Unicron.

Grailknights

In contrast to black metal, the Grailknights use lively colours such as red (Mac Death), blue (Lord Lightbringer), green (Sir Optimus Prime) and yellow (Baron van der Blast).

Mudflap girl

In issue #4 of the Dreamwave Productions comic Transformers: The War Within, Optimus Prime is portrayed as having a mudflap with the silhouette of Elita One.

Optimus Rhyme

Yukk!

Yukk!'s character is voiced by Frank Welker, years before he won the role as the voice of Megatron in the Transformers cartoon series — alongside his colleague Peter Cullen, who was the voice of Megatron's enemy, Optimus Prime, and who provided the voices of Mighty Man and his alter ego Brandon Brewster in this cartoon series.
