Ostróda

The knights named the new town Osterode after Osterode am Harz in Lower Saxony, Germany (now a sister city with Ostróda).


Gropenbornskopf

The Gropenbornskopf is a northern offshoot of the Aschentalshalbe in the Harz Mountains of central Germany, two kilometres east of Sieber in the district of Osterode am Harz in the state of Lower Saxony.

Liesgau

Its southern bound is near the town of Duderstadt and its northern bound is near Osterode, while its western bound is near the River Leine and its eastern bound corresponds to the present-day eastern border of Lower Saxony.

Principality of Grubenhagen

Grubenhagen was located around the southwestern edge of the Harz, and included the towns of Osterode am Harz, Herzberg am Harz, Duderstadt, Einbeck and the eastern exclave of Elbingerode.

Schadenbeeksköpfe

The Schadenbeeksköpfe are two summits on a southeastern outlier of the Aschentalshalbe in the Harz Mountains of Germany, about 3.6 kilometres southeast of Sieber in the district of Osterode am Harz in Lower Saxony.
