In the early 20th Century they petitioned Andrew Carnegie, and in 1912 the original library building was constructed at 704 Fourth Street in Oswego, Kansas.

Tentaculites oswegoensis

In Oswego, Illinois it is found mostly in clusters at Waubonsie Creek in the Basal Brainard Formation, just west of the railroad tracks.


Bob Lemon

On April 29, 1927, an order for a voluntary dissolution of the Empire State Railroad Corporation, which operated trolleys between Syracuse and Oswego under the name Empire State Railways, was signed by Justice Ernest I. Edgecomb in New York Supreme Court.

While container shipping is currently uncommon on the Great Lakes, a proposal for shipping containers from the port of Oswego on Lake Ontario in upstate New York down the Saint Lawrence Seaway for transfer to larger ocean-going ships at Melford International Terminal in Nova Scotia is currently (2008) being considered.

Maquoketa Group

Although not useful to industry it does contain rare and diverse fossils, some of which are only known in Illinois such as Tentaculites oswegoensis, a small unclassified fossil named after Oswego, Illinois and found in the basal Brainard.

Moses Cleaveland

Some journeyed by land with the horses and cattle, while the main body went in boats up the Mohawk, down the Oswego, along the shore of Lake Ontario, and up Niagara River, carrying their boats over the long portage of seven miles at the falls.

Public school systems in Aurora, Illinois

Due to the sheer size of the city of Aurora, these are not the only three school systems serving residents - some students in the far north end of the city (north of I88 in Kane County) attend Batavia, Illinois public schools, some on the far southwest side attend the Kaneland School district (headquartered in Maple Park, Illinois), and some students in the far south end of the city (Kendall and Will County portions) attend Oswego, Illinois public schools.

It ranged from Oswego, IL (Kendall County) to possibly Kankakee River State Park (KRSP) in Will County, Illinois.

Woodbridge Nathan Ferris

Ferris was born to John Ferris Jr. and Estella (Reed) Ferris in a log cabin near Spencer, New York and attended the academies of Spencer, Candor, and Owego (see autobiography posted on Ferris State University Webpage. Owego and Oswego are frequently confused.), and the Oswego Normal Training School (now State University of New York at Oswego) from 1870–1873.
