The main concentrations of Pakistani settlement in London are found in Outer London with the boroughs of Redbridge, Newham and Waltham Forest accounting for nearly a third of Londoners of Pakistani Descent.

Part of Outer London, much of its area is protected from development by the Metropolitan Green Belt and more than half the borough is now parkland.
The southern part of the London Borough of Lewisham as well as a small part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich fall outside its boundaries whilst 44 of its 119 districts are in Outer London and its irregular shape stretches to the Greater London boundary at Mill Hill and Scratch Wood and beyond it at Sewardstone.
The area originally extended as far west as Sunbury-on-Thames, however, changes to the size and make up of the London postal district since its inception led to many areas being transferred to the newly created outer London postcode districts of Kingston-upon-Thames and Twickenham.
