During the time when the Communist leadership of Hungary would not permit his death to be commemorated, or permit access to his burial place, a cenotaph in his honour was erected in Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
He was buried two days later in the family tomb at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.

Paul-Albert Bartholomé (1848 in Thiverval-Grignon, Yvelines, France – 1928 in Paris), was a French painter and sculptor and is inhumed in the 4th division of the Père Lachaise Cemetery.
Bruno Coquatrix, was born in Ronchin, Nord on 5 August 1910, died in Paris on 1 April 1979, and was buried in the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery (division 96).
