Brian Grosz is a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn, New York who plays deranged-alt folk reminiscent of Tom Waits, Mark Lanegan and PJ Harvey.
The cast of performers consists of famous musicians such as Elvis Costello, Lou Reed, David Johansen, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Teresa Stratas, Lotte Lenya, Betty Carter, William S. Burroughs, The Persuasions, and Stan Ridgway (video version only).
He received lessons and advice from the Scottish folk guitarist Bert Jansch, Johnny Marr, former guitarist of The Smiths, Roger McGuinn of The Byrds, PJ Harvey and the pioneering guitarist Davey Graham.

2 January – The morning's edition of BBC Radio 4's Today is guest edited by musician PJ Harvey, with items includes a Thought for the Day from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and a segment in which John Pilger criticises US President Barack Obama for not closing the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.
Guest artists over the last 3 decades have included Victoria Williams, Neko Case, Juliana Hatfield, PJ Harvey, Vic Chesnutt, Steve Wynn, Vicki Peterson, Rainer Ptacek, M. Ward, Isobel Campbell, nearly all members of the band Poi Dog Pondering, and Indiosa Patsy Jean (Gelb and Brown's daughter).
The latter song lent its name to the soundtrack of the television show Gilmore Girls, entitled Our Little Corner of the World: Music from Gilmore Girls, where it was featured alongside music by John Lennon, Black Box Recorder, PJ Harvey, and others.
Music journalist and critic Toby Creswell included "Into My Arms" in his book 1001 Songs: The Great Songs of All Time and the Artists, Stories and Secrets Behind Them, in which he attributed the song's melancholic lyrics to the break-up of Cave's long-term relationship with Viviane Carneiro and his subsequent brief relationship and break-up with English musician PJ Harvey.
Pitchfork gave the album a rating of 8.1, comparing Hunter's vocals to those of PJ Harvey and Beach House's Victoria Legrand.
The resulting record, The Inner Flame: Rainer Ptacek Tribute, featured Ptacek-penned songs performed by Gelb (with Giant Sand), Plant, Jimmy Page, Emmylou Harris, Evan Dando, Victoria Williams, Vic Chesnutt, PJ Harvey, The Drovers, Madeleine Peyroux, Kris McKay, Jonathan Richman and Bill Janovitz.
Chipperfield is now living in Berlin and is a successful DJ playing clubs across Europe and has worked with artists as diverse as Peaches, Robots In Disguise, IAMX, Angie Reed, Stereo Total, Planning To Rock, Bruce LaBruce, Heidi Mortenson, MEN, Kids On TV, Milenasong, The Fall, Damon Albarn, Stephen Malkmus and producers Alan Moulder (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins), Flood (PJ Harvey, U2) and Bruce Lampcov (David Bowie, Suede).
Perhaps acknowledging the influence of the former, Forget Cassettes covered PJ Harvey's 'Me-Jane' — from her 1993 album Rid of Me — during their 2007 European tour.
