2 unusual facts about Paddy Glackin

Paddy Glackin

Glackin's primary influence came from Donegal fiddlers, most prominently John Doherty the legendary travelling fiddler whom Glackin always cites as his main influence.

The original line-up included Irish music legends Matt Molloy, Dónal Lunny, Paddy Keenan, Tony MacMahon, Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill and Mícheál Ó Domhnaill.

Matt Molloy of The Chieftains led the communion with a slow air; Altan members Daithí Sproule, Paul Kelly, Dermot Byrne, Ciaran Curran and Ciaran Tourish blended with mazurkas from fiddler John Doherty, and Paddy Glackin and Dónal Lunny concluded on fiddle and synthesizer playing "Paddy's Rambles in the Park".
