Recchione has two paintings in Abruzzo: St Andrew Fisherman (1870) in the church of the Madonna del Rosario in Palena, and a Holy Family (1902) in Abbey of Monteplanizio at Lettopalena.

In 1991, Douglas Tompkins, an American leader of The Conservation Land Trust who is an environmentalist, conservationist and a former businessman, bought a large, semi-abandoned plot of land in the Reñihué River Valley of the Chilean province of Palena.
