From 1998 to 2001 Searle worked as a consultant at the school in the Aboriginal community of Papunya in central Australia, the place where the Western Desert Art Movement originated.
The museum houses many important breakthrough paintings of the Papunya movement and Arnhem land artists.
Wintjiya's work was included in a survey of the history of Papunya Tula painting hosted by Flinders University in the late 1990s.
