Chai Ling became a Christian on December 4, 2009 and was baptized on April 4, 2010 at Park Street Church in Boston.
Edward Dorr Griffin (1770–1837) served as the first pastor of the Park Street Church and preached a famous series of Sunday evening sermons attacking the New Divinity.
Thereafter, he served as pastor of the Park Street Church, Boston, in 1817–1826, where he greatly influenced the young hymn writer and clergyman Ray Palmer, author of "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" among others.
