Aequidens

The only exceptions are A. plagiozonatus which also occurs in the Paraná Basin, and A. tetramerus which also occurs in the Parnaíba River.

Araioses

It lies near the Parnaíba River's delta, and its territory also include the Canárias, Desgraça, Coroatá and Grande de Paulino islands, apart from several smaller islands.

Caenotropus

Caenotropus is a genus of chilodontid headstanders from South America, found in the Orinoco, Parnaíba, and Amazon Basins, as well as various rivers in the Guianas.

Parnaíba River

The Parnaíba River rises in the Chapada das Mangabeiras range, and flows northeastward for 1,056 miles (1,700 kilometers) to empty into the Atlantic Ocean, being the longest river entirely located within Brazil's Northeast Region.

In the cover art created for the album, the front cover featured the sunset seen from the Parnaíba River amidst the zodiacal table and the back cover showed a silhouette of the band members in gray, reflecting the concept underlying the lyrics: ecology, mysticism and anti-racism.


Aspidoras

Six species are known from northeastern Brazilian coastal river basins: A. rochai from rivers around Fortaleza, A. raimundi from the Parnaíba River, A. carvalhoi from rivers around Guaramiranga, Ceará State, A. maculosus from the Itapicuru River, A. menezesi from the Jaguaribe River, and A. spilotus from the Acaráu River.
