Dominic, with the permission of the Passionist General, visited the site in November 1840, though Ignatius Spencer warned Dominic that the situation in England would mean this would not be a favourable time to make such a foundation.
At that time the Passionist was giving a parish mission at St Chad’s in Cheetham Hill, Manchester and it was there that Father Gaudentius advised Elizabeth to make her home, teaching in the parish school.
Iñaki Mallona Txertudi C.P. (born July 1, 1932) was the third Roman Catholic bishop of Arecibo.
He received his episcopal consecration on February 24, 1942 from Archbishop Giorgio Caruana, with Archbishop Manuel Zubizarreta y Unamunsaga, OCD, and Bishop Eduardo Martínez y Dalmau, CP, serving as co-consecrators, in the Cathedral of Havana.
