The lone Parliamentary District of Taguig-Pateros-Muntinlupa was the representation of the municipalities of Muntinlupa, Pateros and Taguig in the Regular Batasang Pambansa from 1984 to 1986.

On March 29, 1900, Pateros became one of the towns in the newly created province of Rizal, by virtue of General Order No. 40, Act No. 137 of the Philippine Commission, which was promulgated on June 11, 1901.
It eventually joins the Pateros River, forming the common border between the municipality of Pateros and Makati City.
