Afterwards when Pattan became the royal camp it was made over to Mirza Khan (Abdu-r-Rahim S. Bairam) and Sayyid Ahmad became governor (on account of Mirza's youth).

It was also called as "kelikkarai", "Ninathaan mudithaan pattinam", "Sembi Nadu", "lebbat pattan"(pattan mentioned in voyages of Ibn Battuta & map displayed in Ibn Battuta Mall).
It is generally assumed that it was built in the memory of Bhimdev I (A.D. 1022 to 1063) son of Mularaja, the founder of the Solanki dynasty of Anahilwada Pattan in about 1050 A.D. by his widowed queen Udayamati.
