Lekhnath is named after the famous Nepali poet Lekh Nath Paudyal (1885–1966), who was born at Arghaun Archale, present ward no 6 of Lekhnath Municipality.
Most of the people are Paudel while Neupane, Subedi, Dahal, Adhikari and Bhattrai also reside here with harmony.
