The bay runs from Pedra de Lume's nearest promontory up to the island's northeasternmost point.
The village is about 5 km east of Espargos and is linked with a road linking to the island capital as well as other villages on the island.

Lobo was born on the island of Sal in the town of Pedra de Lume, where he worked alongside his family in the local salt mines during his youth.
