Recent literary translations include The Sweetness of Life by Paulus Hochgatterer (MacLehose Press), Ruth Maier's Diary (Harvill/Secker), and three titles for Peirene Press: Portrait of the Mother as a Young Woman by Friedrich Christian Delius, Sea of Ink by Richard Weihe, and The Mussel Feast by Birgit Vanderbeke.
The book was nominated for several literary prizes, and is due to appear in an English translation from Peirene Press in 2014, under the title Under the Tripoli Sky.
She had stints in journalism with Reuters and AFP, before founding Peirene Press in 2008.
