4 unusual facts about Petyr Baelish

Petyr Baelish

While he is initially perceived as a minor but somewhat powerful figure in the first three books of the series, by A Feast for Crows it is revealed that several major plot points have hinged on Baelish's intrigues and machinations, including the framing of Tyrion Lannister for the attempt on Bran Stark's life and the deaths of Jon Arryn and King Joffrey.

His skills in commerce and intrigue led him to eventually attain the position of Master of Coin in King's Landing, where he also owns a series of brothels.

Blaming Lysa's death on the only other witness, a minstrel, Petyr spends A Feast for Crows further establishing his rule at The Vale.

When Joffrey is convinced to marry Renly's widow, Margaery, instead of his betrothed Sansa Stark, Petyr is rewarded in A Storm of Swords by being named Lord of Harrenhal and Lord Paramount of the Trident in place of Edmure Tully.
