KMZ continued to be present at international photography fairs such as Photokina or PMA and even presented some new products, today the company found a niche in Rifle scopes, Night vision scopes, Binoculars and other optical products.
In 1982 he was invited to the Photokina in Cologne, where he was presented as one of the twenty most significant photographers of the 20th century.
In September 2004, his photographs were once more on display at the world exhibition PhotoKina in Cologne, this time in the Olympus E-system Gallery.
Waaske's little camera was presented at Photokina in 1966 as Rollei 35, with a better lens – the Zeiss Tessar 3.5/40mm lens, a state-of-the-art Gossen CdS-exposure meter and a precision-made diaphragm shutter made by Compur, using Waaske's patented shutter design.
