His paternal grandfather was originally from Piamonte, and emigrated to Argentina to be an Agricultural producer and a fruit seller.
The original settlement was an agricultural colony called Colonia Margarita, in lands belonging to José Gálvez, then governor of the province, who rented it for farming, mainly to Italian immigrants from Piamonte and Lombardia.
In 1891 the first railway arrived in Morteros, the railway brought a large number of European immigrants from the Piamonte, Friuli and Toscana in Italy.
