On October 26, 2009, a Pilatus PC-12 on its way to Frankfurt Egelsbach Airport crashed in a field shortly after take-off from Kempen Airport, killing the two people on board.

On March 22, 2009, a Pilatus PC-12 flying in from Oroville, California crashed in Holy Cross Cemetery 500 feet from the airport, killing all 14 people on board.
After the war, many aircraft were withdrawn from service, and modern ones were also obtained, notably 20 Pilatus PC-9 and 10 Bell 206B-3 in 1997.
Additional "civilian" aircraft operated from NKP were the Cessna 185, Cessna Skymaster, Pilatus PC-6, Helio Courier, de Havilland DHC-4 and Douglas DC-3.
After six days of trekking, Per & Ralph flew in a Pilatus Porter airplane to an altitude of 29,500 feet (ca. 9 km), just above the peak of Mount Everest and jumped out in -50°C and free fell for one minute before opening the parachute and landed at the Drop Zone at 12,350 feet (ca. 4 km).
On 12 October 2009, a PC-9M was involved in a fatal crash near Cornamona, in County Galway, which killed both pilots.
