The album would spawn two of their most loved songs: "Twiggy Twiggy" and "Baby Love Child" (the latter song finding its way onto the Futurama episode "Leela's Homeworld" as well as Adam Curtis' 2011 documentary series "All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace", in which it serves as title music.

Produced by Tei, Future Listening! includes collaborations with artists such as Joi Cardwell, Bebel Gilberto, MC Kinky, Hiroshi Takano, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono, Toshihiko Mori, Satoshi Tomiie, Yuichi Oki of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and Pizzicato Five vocalist Maki Nomiya.
The album features a selection of seven songs from Mizuki's first two studio albums, Arisa and Arisa II: Shake Your Body for Me, remixed by famous Japanese DJs and musicians, including former Pizzicato Five frontman Yasuharu Konishi.
Halcali, again, features many artists and producers throughout the album, such as: electrocore unit 80kidz, Shibuya-kei veteran Maki Nomiya (ex-Pizzicato Five) and Japanese Ska group Your Song Is Good as the backing band.
