Frederick of Anhalt-Harzgerode (16 November 1613, Ensdorf, Bavaria – 30 June 1670, Plötzkau), was a German prince of the House of Ascania and the first ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Harzgerode.

Frederick ruled his small principality without complications for almost thirty years, until 1665, when the extinction of the line of Anhalt-Plötzkau changed the original division of the Anhalt principalities.
That year, he and his brothers decided to divide their principality of Anhalt-Dessau formally; George received Plötzkau.

After 1544 he became the first ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Plötzkau.
After the death of his father in 1653, Lebrecht inherited Plötzkau jointly with his older brother Ernest Gottlieb and his younger brother Emmanuel.
Plötzkau is a municipality in the district of Salzlandkreis, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
His illegitimate son Theodoric, by a mistress named Cunigunde, widowed Countess of Plötzkau, was legitimated on 12 May 1203 and became Bishop of Merseburg in 1204.
