7 unusual facts about Plumeria


Dilobocondyla bangalorica

The ants build their nest in the Frangipani plant species Plumeria alba and Plumeria rubra.

Frangipane

A certain Frangipane was perfumier to Louis XIII of France, hence the common name of the flowering tropical trees that are actually in the genus Plumeria.

Others feature designs clearly inspired by patola, for example a design known as the frangipani flower (cempaka).
