Bijelo Polje is also the birthplace of NBA Center Nikola Peković.

Biskupija

The municipality covers a karst field called Kosovo polje located between the mountains of Promina and Veliki Kozjak.

Dugi otok

The western coast is tall and rugged, and many of the towns are clustered on the eastern side, including Sali, the largest, Božava, Dragove, Soline, Brbinj, Luka, Polje, Verona, Savar, Veli Rat, Zaglav, and Žman.

Kosovo Polje

In April 1987 it became the scene of a famous incident when Slobodan Milošević–at the time chairman of the League of Communists of Serbia–was sent to Kosovo Polje's Hall of Culture (town hall) to calm a crowd of angry Serbs protesting at what they saw as anti-Serb discrimination by the Albanian-dominated Kosovo administration.

Milan Radulović

Milan Radulović (born in 1948 in Malo Polje near Han Pijesak) was the Serbian Minister of Religion.

Ogulin

The Ogulin-Modruš valley finishes towards the south where the Modruš hills pass into the second largest field of the area under Kapela-Plaški Polje.

Pešter

The plateau is actually a large field (Peštersko polje) surrounded by mountains of Jadovnik (1734 m), Zlatar (1627 m), Ozren (1693 m), Giljeva (1617 m), Javor (1519 m), Golija (1833 m), Žilindar (1616 m), Hum (1756 m), Ninaja (1462 m) and Jarut (1428 m).

Podgora, Dobrepolje

It is the only village in the polje located almost entirely on Triassic rock.

Vjetrenica

Located in Popovo Polje in Ravno municipality, village Zavala with its old architecture and stone masonry, together with Vjetrenica cave, constitute the natural and architectural ensemble, which is in the process of being protected as National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as such it is already placed on UNESCO Tentative List.
