The band was founded by brothers Tom Lavin (guitar, vocals), Jack Lavin (bass, vocals), and Willie MacCalder (keyboards, vocals).

Members have included Tom Lavin, Dave Woodward, Duris Maxwell, Willie MacCalder, Gordon Bertram, Bill Runge, Jerry Cook, Bill Clark, and Daryl Bennett.


Duris Maxwell

Duris Maxwell (born June 15, 1946), also known as Ted Lewis, is a Canadian drummer who has played with many bands, including Bobby Taylor & the Vancouvers, Powder Blues Band, Doucette, The Temptations, Jefferson Airplane, and Skylark.

Fraser MacPherson

He also taught briefly in the Jazz and Commercial Music department at Vancouver Community College, where his students included future Powder Blues Band baritone saxophonist Gordie Bertram and New Orleans based saxophonist and jazz educator John Doheny.
