In addition to winning North 1, and to crown a successful season, Halifax won through to the Final of the Powergen Intermediate Cup at Twickenham where they triumphed over Gosport and Fareham (43-19).
It was installed in 1998 by Yorkshire Cogen Ltd (was part of Yorkshire Electricity and bought by Powergen in 1999, which became E.ON in 2004) and is run by E.ON UK CHP Ltd.
The assets of the CEGB are broken up into three new companies: Powergen, National Power and National Grid Company.
