While technically formed in early 2010, the evolution of the group began in 2008 when Chicago-based band Powerspace, including members Kevin Kane and Tom Schleiter, recruited Chicago natives Max Perenchio and Jake Serek as touring musicians.
Shortly before recording another album, the band played for a portion of the Show Must Go On tour with Hawthorne Heights, Secondhand Serenade, Powerspace, and Brighten, but later cancelled their dates on the last part of the tour to open for Deftones on a separate Canadian tour.
Upon graduating from Solon High School he went on to study Architecture at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, eventually pursuing music alongside such notable acts as Kate Voegele, Powerspace, and Look Afraid.
