His younger brother Rajeev Kapoor directed PremGranth in 1996, the commercial failure but successful Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999) the Kapoors have made no new R.K. productions.
He produced Henna (1991) which was directed by his brother Randhir and then made his directorial debut with PremGranth (1996) which starred his brother Rishi and Madhuri Dixit.
